The project, currently in the design development phase, focuses on creating a calming, sensory-considered experience for families using the facility. Internally, this is achieved through the use of soft, colour-blocked tones and natural timber finishes. Externally, the building responds to the surrounding institutional red-brick context, reinterpreting it in a contemporary way, with subtle variations in brick coursing to introduce texture and depth. Both the building and civil works are carefully designed to integrate with and retain existing trees on the site.
